Random purchase!

We had to run to Target tonight for new Zero Water filters (which they didn't have, btw).  Instead, I bought a new Crockpot!! :)  Who doesn't need two crockpots??  Especially when one is this little beauty!!

Now you know why I fell in love!!  At least I had a gift card!!! :D

Spring Break 2012

Friday, April 13th::

Happy Birthday to my hubby!!!!!! :D

Today is a short day here!  We have spent it cleaning up and packing up!! :(  Headed back to the real world this afternoon!!

Flights were pretty good this time.  The first one was a little bumpy, but the second flight was pretty close to perfect!

As soon as we grabbed our bags from the baggage claim (start humming Miranda Lambert now!), we were headed to Guitar Center!  The banjo has arrived!!  It is stunning...pictures to come soon!

Then we had dinner at Demo's!!  Always delicious.

Finally we made it home to the most comfortable bed in the world!!  I will never leave this bed. EVER.    :)

Spring Break 2012

Thursday, April 12th::

We spent this morning on the beach at Jack's house.  We played in the sand and the water for a couple of hours before venturing up the beach to lunch!

Then we ate lunch at Junkanoo.  I had Bacon Scallop Pizza...delish.  After we loaded up then we headed down through Bonita Springs and over to Royal Scoop.  I'm not much on ice cream, but I sure do love Royal Scoop!!

Chocolate Caramel Fudge Brownie...and an animal cracker!

We came home where Jeremy and I napped.  Much needed!  Then we picked out a dinner location in honor of Jeremy's birthday!  We chose Chile Ranchero.  When we rolled up at the restaurant, it kinda looked like a hole in the wall, but boy, was it delicious!!  Everything was very, very good!

Then we went and saw the Hunger Games!!  (Not sure if that was more for Jeremy or me, but it was good!)

Late bedtime...we're leaving out tomorrow!!

Spring Break 2012

Wednesday, April 11th::

I was right, I was right!!!  Putt-putt golf was included in today's plans!!  We went to Smuggler's Cove first thing this morning to try and beat the heat! (It did NOT work!!)

The golf course had baby alligators to feed though!!  They weren't very hungry :(

We had to split up into two groups to play, but it was very fun!  There are some difficult holes, and the course offers riddles for you to try and figure out the best way to attempt it.  This was sooooometimes helpful and sometimes not!!  Pappaw took off on an early lead starting the game with 2 holes-in-one!!!  Craziness.  I, however, made a comeback late in the game!  Pappaw, Uncle Billy, and I ended up tying for first!!  I'd say that's a pretty good accomplishment for me :)

Then we had lunch at Skip One Seafood.  A slightly hole in the wall location, but the food cannot be beat!  SO delicious!!  Blackened scallops have my heart (and tummy)!

Next, Uncle Billy, Sarah, Jeremy, and I went to Miromar Outlet mall.  The Vera Bradley store is a little overwhelming!!  I came out with an adorable purse and wallet though!!

Lemon parfait...yummy!!!  I want everything in this print :)

After our shopping spree, we arrived home to a delicious feast.  Chicken from the grill, veggies, fruit, salsa, fresh corn!!  Scrumptious.

One more full day in paradise!

Spring Break 2012

Tuesday, April 10th::

First off, happy seven month anniversary to my hubby!! :)  Time flies when you're having fun!

Today was a crazy, busy day.  We hit up Sanibel and Captiva Islands.  Both were beautiful, beautiful places!!  Sanibel is one of my favorite places in the whole world, and I couldn't wait to share it with Jerm.

We ate breakfast at the scrumptious Lighthouse Cafe.  The best place for breakfast EVER!

Next, we went to actually visit the beach and the lighthouse.  I should note that this trip is Jeremy's first time to see the ocean and put his toes in the sand!

We all had a great time frolicking in the water, looking for shells, and taking crazy pictures in the driftwood and trees!!

Then we rented bicycles.  Jeremy and I were a little nervous and shaky at first, but we picked it back up!!  There really is some credibility to the saying "just like riding a bike."  We ended up biking approximately six miles!  Shew wee!!!

Then we stopped and ate at the always delicious Cheeburger Cheeburger.  If you eat a 1-pound cheeseburger, then you get your picture taken and placed on their wall of fame!!  If you are 12 and under and you eat a 1/2 pound cheeseburger, then you get your picture placed on the kiddie wall of fame!!  Guess who all did that today!!??  Jeremy, Dalton, and Dakota!!  Crazy men.

Next, we headed on over to the Bubble Room for dessert!!  I know, I know...we base everything around food, but really we only get one day on Sanibel!!  Gotta make it count!!

Can't wait to see what adventures tomorrow brings!!  I hear there may be putt-putt golf in store :)

Spring Break 2012

So I debated back and forth on whether or not to post about our vacation until we were back.  For safety's sake, ya know!  I decided to write each post, but not actually post them until we got back!

Sunday, April 8th::

We flew down to Fort Myers on Southwest Airlines!  This was Jeremy's first flight, and he was excited!!  Nervous, but excited!!  He did a great job.  In fact, I think he handled the slight turbulence better than I did!

**Side-note** Sleeping on a full size bed when you are used to a king size bed = no comfort!! :)

Monday, April 9th::

We were woke up by four crazy kids sneeeeeeeaking into our room.  Poor Denver was caught in a tickle fight that resulted in a lost tooth!!  Someone's gonna get a visit from the toothfairy tonight!!

First things first, we did what everyone does when they go on vacation...we went to Guitar Center!!  What??  Is that not what everyone else does?? :D

Jeremy needed to research some banjos!  So we had to check out what they had.  They supposedly had a black chrome version in stock, but they didn't!  Oh well, he got to try a similar one anyways. (The chrome one will be awaiting our arrival at home!)

Then, we ate at the delicious Mel's Diner.  Buffalo and Chicken Parmesan sandwiches are yum.

Some crazy kiddos were racing in the pool when we got back!  Cute guys.  The boys also made a new friend...the neighbor kiddo from next door!

We let these crazy hooligans talk us into taking them fishing.  We saw an alligator and actually caught a couple fish!!

We had a delicious dinner at Miller's Ale House.  I highly recommend the seafood mac 'n cheese.  Delish.  Then we walked around the shopping center and bought some new running shoes!!  I hope that inspires us to run :)

Tomorrow should be a busssssssy day!!

What have you been up to??

We have had a crazy few weeks.  Soon KTIP will be over, summer will be here, and life will should be slightly less hectic!! :)  So....brief catch up!

Worship/praise team practice and services have been going wonderfully.  Music revitalizes my spirit after a busy week.  Sometimes I put too must emphasis on school things, and my focus and attention isn't where it should be (like on my Lord!!)  Another sidenote: McKenna is singing with the band again!!  YAY!!  Welcome back, Ken Ken!! :)

McKenna Beth

School is going great!!  KTIP:  countdown is 20 days!!  Whoo hoo.  Lots of stuff to do, but I can't believe it's almost over!! :D  Many, many things have been happening at school, including a book character parade and imagination gone crazy!!

Super cute Lego men!

No one can build like preschoolers!

Home life::  We've been pretty busy at home too!!  We had some prints professionally framed, and we (Jeremy especially!) can't wait to hang them in our hall!!  I'll post a picture as soon as we manage to get them on the walls.  I'm having a hard time coping with putting nail holes in our beautiful walls :(  I also got a haircut yesterday...taking a bit to get used to, but I like it so far!!

BANGS!
 Yesterday, Mickey D's was giving away free Pine seedlings in honor of Arbor Day!  We got three!!  Today, we dug some holes and planted them in our yard!!  Fingers crossed that they grow :)

One day I will be a tree!

Just for kicks, I thought I'd throw in an adorable picture of my sweet hubby.  I love him!

More updates coming soon!!!
